Only in God Prayer Blog - Forgiveness

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Let us pray

O Jesus I Surrender myself to You, You take over. Amen

We make no apology for stating it is time to -

Stand up for Jesus.

As Mary forewarned Satan has made inroads into the Holy Church of God. We must therefore do as Mary requested pray, renew belief in, and, devotion to the Blessed Sacrament - the true presence - through Holy Mass, Adoration, Benediction, spending time before the Tabernacle and saying each day the Rosary. Uphold the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Today we pray The Sorrowful Mysteries

Uphold the true Gospel of Jesus Christ

As the Octave of Christmas continues, we reflect on the importance of forgiveness, remembering that God sent his Son so that we may be forgiven.

We need look no further than Colossians 3:12-21 the Word of Our Lord which tells us

'You are God’s chosen race, his saints; he loves you, and you should be clothed in sincere compassion, in kindness and humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with one another; forgive each other as soon as a quarrel begins. The Lord has forgiven you; now you must do the same. Over all these clothes, to keep them together and complete them, put on love. And may the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it is for this that you were called together as parts of one body. Always be thankful.

Let the message of Christ, in all its richness, find a home with you. Teach each other, and advise each other, in all wisdom. With gratitude in your hearts sing psalms and hymns and inspired songs to God; and never say or do anything except in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him'.

Need we reflect further?

MORNING PRAYER

God this morning

grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

the courage to change the things I can,

and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen

TODAY is the 7th day within the octave of Christmas

(optional commemoration of Saint Silvester I, Pope)

He was made Pope in 314 and ruled the Church during the reign of the newly-converted Emperor Constantine. In his time the Donatist schism and the Arian heresy caused great trouble for the Church. He died in 335 and is buried in the cemetery of Priscilla in the via Salaria in Rome. His life has been so accreted with pious legends that very little else is known about him for certain, but his reign as Pope is the eighth longest on record.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, assist me in my last agony. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, may I breathe forth my soul in peace with you.

WORD OF OUR LORD

John 1:1-18 The Word was made flesh, and lived among us

In the beginning was the Word:

and the Word was with God

and the Word was God.

He was with God in the beginning.

Through him all things came to be,

not one thing had its being but through him.

All that came to be had life in him

and that life was the light of men,

a light that shines in the dark,

a light that darkness could not overpower.

A man came, sent by God.

His name was John.

He came as a witness,

as a witness to speak for the light,

so that everyone might believe through him.

He was not the light,

only a witness to speak for the light.

The Word was the true light

that enlightens all men;

and he was coming into the world.

He was in the world

that had its being through him,

and the world did not know him.

He came to his own domain

and his own people did not accept him.

But to all who did accept him

he gave power to become children of God,

to all who believe in the name of him

who was born not out of human stock

or urge of the flesh

or will of man

but of God himself.

The Word was made flesh,

he lived among us,

and we saw his glory,

the glory that is his as the only Son of the Father,

full of grace and truth.

John appears as his witness. He proclaims:

‘This is the one of whom I said:

He who comes after me ranks before me

because he existed before me.’

Indeed, from his fullness we have, all of us, received –

yes, grace in return for grace,

since, though the Law was given through Moses,

grace and truth have come through Jesus Christ.

No one has ever seen God;

it is the only Son, who is nearest to the Father’s heart,

who has made him known.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Jesus loves everyone with a love far beyond human recognition. Tender, kind, consoling, and longing for us to acknowledge Him and return in our humble way our love for Him and our neighbour. All He asks is that we trust Him we surrender everything to Him. My Jesus we thank Thee.

Always Remember - JESUS LOVES YOU

God sent his Only Begotten Son into the world,

so that we might have life through him

Each day I pray that the Lord will bless you and keep you.

May He show His face to you and have mercy.

May He turn His countenance to you and give you peace.

The Lord bless you!

Amen.

Always remember - Jesus loves you.

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in our hour of conflict. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

Only in God is my soul at rest. In Him comes my salvation.

We finish as we begun

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
