To Mary

Mary is indeed a very special person for us Catholics. Episcopalian and Lutheran Christians also hold her in high esteem for her special role in salvation history. It is impossible to think of our faith, both in doctrine and practice, without thinking of the mother of Jesus—the Mother of God.

Act of Consecration to Mary

My Queen and my Mother, I give myself entirely to you; and to show my devotion to you,

I consecrate to you this day my eyes, my ears, my mouth, my heart, my whole being without reserve.

Wherefore, good Mother, as I am your own, keep me, guard me, as your property and possession. Amen.

A Prayer to Our Blessed Mother

Take my hand, O Blessed Mother

Hold me firmly lest I fall

I grow nervous while walking and

Humbly on thee call.

Guide me over every crossing,

Watch me when I'm on the stairs

Let me know you're beside me

Listen to my fervent prayers.

Bring me to my destination

Safely along the way

Bless my every undertaking

And duties for the day.

When evening creeps upon me

I'll never fear to be alone

Once again, O Blessed Mother

Take my hand and lead me home.

Amen

Acts of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

By Pope Pius XII

Most Holy Virgin Mary, tender Mother of men, to fulfill the desires of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the request of the Vicar of Your Son on earth, we consecrate ourselves and our families to your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and we recommend to You, all the people of our country and all the world.

Please accept our consecration, dearest Mother, and use us as You wish to accomplish Your designs in the world.

O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and Queen of the World, rule over us, together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Our King. Save us from the spreading flood of modern paganism; kindle in our hearts and homes the love of purity, the practice of a virtuous life, an ardent zeal for souls, and a desire to pray the Rosary more faithfully.

We come with confidence to You, O Throne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love. Inflame us with the same Divine Fire which has inflamed Your own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Make our hearts and homes Your shrine, and through us, make the Heart of Jesus, together with your rule, triumph in every heart and home.

Amen.

I, (name), a faithless sinner, renew and ratify today in thy Heart, O Immaculate Mother, the vows of my Baptism; I renounce forever Satan, his pomps and works; and I give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life, and to be more faithful to Him than I have ever been before.

Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, in the presence of all the heavenly court, I choose thee this day for my Mother and Mistress. I deliver and consecrate to thee, and to thy Immaculate Heart, as thy child and slave of love, my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present and future; leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception, according to thy good pleasure, for the greater glory of God, in time and in eternity. Amen.

Other Prayers

Mary who lead Jesus through his life help us on our journey to your divine Son. Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

We all are poor with our human imperfections but in Christ we are rich beyond belief. Mary provides us with the lead. She gave herself for her divine Son and for all of us. Let us follow then her example knowing in love it will bring us closer to God.

The two greatest miracles of the Annunciation are these: that God gave Mary the wisdom to know the consequences of her decision, and that he gave her the grace not to be overwhelmed by that knowledge.

God of mercy,

give us strength.

May we who honour the memory of the Mother of God

rise above our sins and failings with the help of her prayers. Amen

Lord,

as we honor the glorious memory of the Virgin Mary,

we ask that by the help of her prayers

we too may come to share the fullness of your grace.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth,

I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart,

to succor me in this my necessity.

There are none that can withstand your power.

O show me herein that you are my Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us that have recourse to thee.

He has taken her to live with him,

- his loved one from the beginning.

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

- The Lord has chosen her,

his loved one from the beginning.

Lord God,

give to your people the joy

of continual health in mind and body.

With the prayers of the Virgin Mary to help us,

guide us through the sorrows of this life

to eternal happiness in the life to come.

Lord,

may the prayers of the Virgin Mary

bring us protection from danger

and freedom from sin

that we may come to the joy of your peace.

Lord Jesus Christ,

you chose the Virgin Mary to be your mother,

a worthy home in which to dwell.

By her prayers keep us from danger

and bring us to the joy of heaven,
