A Time For Prayer

A Time For Prayer

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

the courage to change the things I can,

and the wisdom to know the difference.

Amen

It is only through those quiet moments

that the words of the Lord can leap into our hearts

and give us peace that truly surpasses our understanding (Philippians 4:7)

I come before you today Lord,

ready for the challenges

facing me.

Help me to keep the spirit

of Your word alive in my heart.

I know that

You are always with me,

at home or at work,

among strangers or friends,

faced with struggles or joys.

Always be with me, Lord, and guide me

Jesus, my brother,

walk with me today as

I continue on my journey.

Give me patience

and understanding,

courage and grace.

Help me to be strong in

body, mind and spirit, and

lead me along the path of

compassion and forgiveness,

kindness and love.

Lord, help me to get comfortable in the quiet, still moments.

Show me the importance of stopping and removing distractions to spend time in your presence.

I don’t want to talk over you but help me to discipline myself

long enough to hear what it is that you have to say.

We can never tire of encountering Jesus.

If we GENUINELY talk to him, listen to His Word and receive Him in the Eucharist

we WILL come to know Him.

God grant us the grace of hearing Him

and listening to Him when HE TALKS to us.

Jesus said “Truly I say to you, ask and it will be given you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you". Behold I knock, I seek and ask for the grace of (your request)

Our Father Hail Mary Glory be to the Father

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You

Everything good comes from God. I prayed at times and was not answered.

Many years later I discover that what I asked for in sincerity would have been disastrous for me.

The Lord heard my prayer, knew what was right for me and did answer my prayer.

Please forgive me Lord my doubts

The Lord says:

He who comes to me I will never cast out. John 6:37

In fact, I have been waiting for all eternity for you to come to me and to stay with me.

For now, live the plan I have conceived for you. It is my joy to have my creature come back to me.

Come to me! My love is patiently waiting.

Prayer is talking to God. Sometimes I pray in the traditional manner but most times I just talk to God. The greatest prayer of all is the Mass when we can truly come into the presence of God. He is always there for us even when we fail Him.

Lord, I give You my life, my cares, my concerns and my future. I trust You in all things. I surrender all. Help me to trust You more each day and to turn to You in complete abandonment. Jesus, I trust in You.

Oh Jesus, I surrender myself to You, take care of everything.

Open our hearts and our minds in love and close our eyes in trust and ask Jesus to take care of it.

He will.

With Jesus everything is possible. There is not a problem Lord which You and I together cannot resolve. Oh my Jesus let me love you above all things and the grace to love my neighbour as myself even those who speak against me.

Abba, Father,

I look to You this day

with joy in my heart

and praise on my lips.

I want to savour every moment,

to celebrate this gift of life.

May I always see your hand

at work in the details of each day,

and may I never forget what

a blessing it is to experience

Your creation.

Lord when I pray You are near me, with me.

Help me to pray so that I can feel Your Presence.

When I pray Lord teach me to listen, to hear you.

Teach me through my prayer to love you above all things and my neighbour as myself.

With you I am rich enough and I ask for nothing more.

I talk to Him every day.

Together we see the day through.

I know there is nothing which we can’t face together. I know Jesus Loves me.

I pray that I can justify His love and protection of me

by my love of my fellow brothers and sisters

and that by that love I can be His witness.

When we pray for God’s guidance and for discernment through the Holy Spirit, we can rest assured that God will provide wisdom! Do not worry about our next step or about tomorrow because we know who guides our way! Do not rush your day without going before God to seek guidance!

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my home and within my family. Amen.

Lord let me be an instrument of your love and peace.

Grant that I may love and serve you not for my own gratification

but that my example of your love and forgiveness help me bring your word to everyone I meet.

The Gospel ‘the Word of God’ is our strength.

It can transform lives.

Remember in each Catholic Church there are two altars.

One the altar of the Word, the other the altar of the Eucharist.

To understand the Eucharist you have to first understand the Word.

God grant there will be a plentiful supply of Priests.

Guard and protect them.

May the Spirit encourage them and lead them into professing the truth.

But everyone who believes and accepts Christ

also has a role within the Church and of evangelical good works.

We must all share and be allowed to share in this great work of the Lord.

Reading the Word of the Lord brings us closer to God and to Our Lord Jesus.

Just open for instance the New Testament anywhere and read.

You will be amazed the difference this will make in your life.

O my God, I love you above all things,

with my whole heart and soul,

because you are all-good and worthy of all love.

I love my neighbour as myself for the love of you.

I forgive all who have injured me,

and I ask pardon of all whom I have injured.

The importance of reading and reflecting on the Word cannot be overestimated.

To know any historic figure we read about them or study about them.

Reading His Word will bring Him much closer to us -

in fact very close.

Lord, no matter what the cross,

let me never stop declaring you to be "truly the Son of God,

the source of my hope,

the reason why I will never quit on life.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.
