For Life and For Families

The family that prays together stays together

God, author of all life, bless, we pray, this unborn child; give constant protection and grant a healthy birth that is the sign of our rebirth one day into the eternal rejoicing of heaven...

Give us courage to speak with truth and love and with conviction in defence of life. To all, grant pardon for the times we have failed to be grateful for your precious gift of life or to respect it in others. We ask this in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Everyone has the fundamental right to life from the unborn child to the elderly. To the detriment of society abortion and euthanasia are becoming accepted. We pray to God that all life is seen as precious.

Heavenly Father the beauty and dignity of human life was the crowning of your creation. You further ennobled that life when your Son became one with us in his incarnation. Help us to realise the sacredness of human life from the moment of conception until the last moment at death

God made the earth and all within. Let us not only use His creation wisely and carefully but remember our responsibilities to our fellow human beings God’s creation as well including the many unborn children doomed to die because of our lack of responsibility.

Almighty Father, give us courage to proclaim the supreme dignity

of all human life and to demand

that society itself give its protection.

We ask this in your name,

through the redemptive act

Please God we pray that the Holy Spirit will lead all young people in the way of the truth but more importantly that those who guide them too are lead by the Spirit. Come Holy Spirit guard us all that we always may be holy and follow the path of truth. Amen.

Jesus said ‘unless you become like little children you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.’ Holy Spirit help those who are responsible for children but not let us forget the need for a childlike love of God.

Mary, Mother of all the living, keep grandparents constantly in your care, accompany them on their earthly pilgrimage, and by your prayers, grant that all families may one day be reunited in our heaven where you await all humanity for the great embrace of life without end. Amen!

Lord Jesus, help families and society to value the presence and roles of grandparents. May they never be ignored or excluded, but always encounter respect and love. Help them to live serenely and to feel welcomed in all the years of life which you give them.

Lord Jesus, you were born of the Virgin Mary, the daughter of Saints Joachim and Anne. Look with love on grandparents the world over. Protect them! They are a source of enrichment for families, for the Church and for all of society. Support them! As they grow older.

The Holy Family can serve today as advocates of every family who sees life taking unexpected and sometimes alarming turns. They stand before us as models of faith, hope and trust—people who embraced all that in spite of everything they encountered

“Love one another; as I have loved you” (John 13:34). On this simple phrase hangs the success of every marriage and family. In the light of Christ’s love we see our family’s divine potential. And as we do, our ordinary family is transformed into an extraordinary one.

I pray that Jesus Who loves us so much will give us the strength and grace to do God’s will and to bring His message of peace into our families and into our world. A world at prayer is a world at peace.

Whether it is in the home at work in the Church, or in our nation, as a matter of justice and gratitude for what we have been given we are called to be welcoming and hospitable to others. By these acts of gratuitousness we help build up the kingdom of God

Gracious God,

give to young people the courage and strength

to make the right decisions

as they journey through life.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit,

may they come to know and experience your loving care.

We make this prayer through Christ Our Lord. Amen

We pray that children may once again enjoy their childhood. May the Holy Spirit guide their parents to enable their children to develop in a loving environment and in so doing instill in them the love that God has for them.
